Niger seeds are also called Uchellu or Gurellu in North Karnataka. This is a flavourful dry chutney pudi/powder made which can liven up the simple meals. They can be used as a side dish with idli,dosa ,rotti etc, can be sprinkled to your salad. This chutney pudi can also be used as a stuffing into veggies like brinjal or adds as a flavour while making subzis. The benefits of niger seeds are similar to those of black sesame seeds.
